Hong Kong World Forum (abb. HKWF), which is founded by China Institute of City Competitiveness and held in Hong Kong every year, is an international high-end academic conference with the emphasis on providing a new thinking and new way. Its research and service object are cities and regions.

Hong Kong World Forum (originally Hong Kong Forum) aims at enhancing the core competitiveness and the sustainable development capacity of cities of Four Districts of Cross the Straits and other international cities and regions, providing a communication and cooperation platform for city leaders in the process of urban and regional competition and development and specialists and scholars to explore the urban and regional development and achieving urban and regional sustainable development, common prosperity and progress in the trend of world development.

The foundation of Hong Kong World Forum sets up a platform for cities’ communication and cooperation and plays an active role in improving international visibility and reputation of city brand.

The first Hong Kong World Forum with the theme “City Competitiveness” was held in World Trade Center, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong on December 15, 2011. The second Hong Kong World Forum with the theme “New Direction of China City Development” was held in World Trade Center, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong on December 5, 2012.
